Pidge vs Tidio

Tidio does a lot more than Pidge: an AI agent, automated Flows, a Shopify app and channels like WhatsApp and Instagram. It charges by the number of conversations your team answers. Pidge is website chat only, free for one website with two people replying, then $10 a month per website with no limit on chats.

Tidio's prices and plans as of 2 November 2026, from tidio.com/pricing and its help centre. Sources are listed at the end. Pidge is free for one website, with everything included for the first 14 days and no card needed.

The short version

Pidge suits you if

  • Website chat is what you need, and you answer more than 50 chats a month.
  • More than 10 people answer, or each of your sites needs its own widget.
  • You want an API and webhooks without a custom plan.
  • You want the chat to show for visitors who use AdGuard's widget filter.

Tidio suits you if

  • You want an AI agent that answers from your FAQ and website.
  • You run a Shopify store and want to look up and cancel orders from the chat.
  • You want automated messages that start when a visitor does something.
  • You answer WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and email in the same inbox.

What it costs

Tidio counts "billable conversations". A chat, ticket or social message counts once someone on your team replies to it or starts it, however many messages follow. Unanswered messages don't count, and neither do replies from Lyro or Flows. Pidge counts websites and doesn't count chats at all. With one website, paying monthly:

Tidio's AI and automation are priced on top of the plan. Lyro starts at $39 a month for 50 AI conversations, and 1,000 cost $700. Flows start at $29 a month for 2,000 visitors reached. Pidge doesn't sell either, so if Lyro is the reason you're looking at Tidio, compare it with an AI tool, not with Pidge.

If you'd pay to remove the badge: on Tidio that's Growth plus a $20 add-on, so $79 a month. Pidge is $10 but still shows a small "Chat by Pidge" link, so it doesn't solve that yet.

Where Tidio is better

Tidio has been around for years and covers much more than website chat. Things it has that we don't:

Where Pidge is different

A busy month doesn't cost more

On Tidio, a sale or a launch that brings in more chats can push you into a higher tier, and when the quota runs out you can't answer new messages until you upgrade. Pidge has no chat limit on either plan. One website with two people replying is free. After that, $10 per website per month covers everyone on your team.

Each site keeps its own widget

Tidio's self-serve plans put the same widget on every site you add it to, with the same colours, hours and offline messages. In Pidge, each website has its own widget, colours and domains, and your team answers all of them from one list.

The API isn't a sales call away

Tidio's REST API and webhooks come with Plus, from $300 a month. In Pidge, API keys, webhooks and the secret for signed emails are on the inbox's Developers page. Both work on the free plan, and the API docs list every endpoint with examples.

Ad blockers don't hide it

AdGuard's widget filter blocks code.tidio.co, where Tidio's widget loads from, so visitors using it don't see a Tidio chat. Pidge loads from a subdomain of your own site, like chat.yoursite.com. We run every request it makes through 14 filter lists from uBlock Origin, AdGuard, EasyList, Brave and Peter Lowe, and none of them block it. To be fair to Tidio, the same AdGuard list blocks many other chat widgets too.

Small things we care about

Moving from Tidio

You remove Tidio and add Pidge's snippet. Where that happens depends on your site:

Pidge doesn't understand Tidio's widget code, so if your site tells Tidio who's logged in, that needs a line of Pidge code instead:

// Tidio
document.tidioIdentify = { name: "Ada", email: "ada@example.com" };

// Pidge
$pidge.push(["set", "user:nickname", ["Ada"]]);
$pidge.push(["set", "user:email", ["ada@example.com"]]);

Your chat history stays in Tidio. Pidge can't import it.
