Terms of service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Pidge. We've kept them short and in plain words. If something here is unclear, ask us in the chat on this site before you sign up.
Who we are
Pidge is run by Spill Hosting AS (spillhosting.no), a Norwegian company. "We" and "us" in these terms means Spill Hosting AS. You can reach us at hello@pidge.chat or in the chat on this site.
What Pidge is
Pidge is a chat widget for your websites, a shared inbox for your team, and an API for your own systems. A workspace is your account with us. It holds your websites, your team and your chats.
Your account
- Sign up with your real name and an email address you read. We send things there that matter, like payment receipts and notices about your plan.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your workspace, including what your team does there.
- You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for your business.
The free plan and your first 14 days
Pidge is free for one website. A new workspace gets everything included for its first 14 days, with no card needed. After that it stays on the free plan unless you choose a paid plan. Nothing is deleted when the 14 days end.
On the free plan, the chat runs on one website, your oldest. Any other websites keep their settings and chats, but their widget doesn't show. The first two people on the team, owners first, can reply; everyone else can still read every chat. Webhooks and the API keep working, translation is off, and up to 50 replies a month are emailed to visitors. Choose a paid plan at any time and everything switches back on. One 14-day period per business, please.
Plans and payment
The paid plan costs $10 per website a month, or $100 per website a year, and includes as many team members and chats as you need. The price is for each website in your workspace; adding or removing one changes the price straight away, for the days left in the period you've paid for.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle adds VAT or sales tax where it applies, takes the payment and sends the invoice.
Plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. If we change our prices, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
If a payment fails
Paddle tries the card again over the following days, and you'll hear about it by email. Everything keeps working for 7 days. If the payment still hasn't gone through by then, the workspace moves to the free plan, just as at the end of the first 14 days, until the card is updated. Nothing is deleted.
Cancelling
Cancel whenever you like from the billing page in the inbox. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for and isn't renewed. After that the workspace moves to the free plan. The refund policy explains how to get money back.
Your data
Your chats, your visitors' details and anything else you put into Pidge belong to you. We process them on your behalf, only to run Pidge for you, and we never sell them or use them for advertising. They're stored on servers in Norway, which is in the EEA, so the GDPR applies. Where the GDPR makes you the controller of your visitors' data, we act as your processor under these terms.
You can download every chat at any time from the billing page, whatever state your plan is in. When you delete a workspace or your account, its data is deleted at once and leaves our backups within 14 days.
Fair use
Live translation and replies emailed to visitors cost us per use, so the paid plan includes a monthly amount: 100,000 characters of translation and 1,000 reply emails per website a month (50,000 characters and 200 emails during the first 14 days). The free plan includes 50 reply emails a month and no translation. If you reach it, messages arrive untranslated and replies wait in the widget until the next month. Need more? Ask us.
What Pidge can't be used for
- Sending spam, or messages people haven't asked for.
- Anything illegal, including collecting personal data without a lawful reason.
- Harassing people, or spreading malware or phishing.
- Getting around the plan limits, or attacking or overloading our servers.
If a workspace breaks these rules, we may switch it off. Unless the law or the harm to others stops us, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
Keeping Pidge running
We work to keep Pidge fast and available, and we back up your data continuously. Still, no service is up all the time, and we can't promise Pidge will never be interrupted. Planned maintenance happens at quiet hours.
Liability
If something goes wrong because of us, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. We aren't liable for lost profits or other indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
Law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the Norwegian courts. If you're a consumer, you keep any rights the law of your country gives you.
